In Situ

     We are sending money to the Mexico researchers to help with the in situ work. There is still a lot of missing information on the thick-billed parrot in the wild. The money is used to help support the field researchers in their endeavors to identify areas in the Sierra Madre where there are active nests and roosting sites. They are also collecting data on the various nests, eggs and youngsters. Zookeepers from participating zoos are helping to collect the data in the wild. The keepers, who work directly with thick-billed parrot in zoo, are helping during breeding season by assisting in the data collecting.
